Aazhimala

Aazhimala is located near Kovalam Beach, a major tourist center in Thiruvananthapuram which is the capital city of Kerala in India. Kovalam and Shangumugham are beaches in Thiruvananthapuram that are popular among the tourists. Only a few are aware of the beautiful beach of Aazhimala which has all features that make it worthy to be included in this list.  This beach is near the Aazhimala Temple and is known for its Ayurveda Resorts and homestays. The main attraction of this place is the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Aazhimala Beach is a beauty and is a favorite of photographers. Accidents are not rare in the rocky cliffs on the beach. It is only 4 km from Aazhimala to Vizhinjam where the new port is being developed. The old Shiva Temple attracts both devotees and sightseers alike. The annual festival of the temple is held in January through February. The view of the beach from the top of the hill is dreamy as is the sunset that can be enjoyed from this silent shore, it is indescribable! The best time to visit the beach is from January till May. Vast sandy areas are seen at that time. Though a lovely one, it has not yet started to become crowded like the other beaches.
