The headquarters of Ramakrishna Math and Mission established by Swami Vivekananda who was the disciple of Ramakrishna Paramhansa, the Belur Math spreads over an area of 40 acres of land beside River Ganga. It is situated in the west banks of River Hooghly in Belur in West Bengal. Belur Math is the core of the social movement of Ramakrishna and is one of the major attractions of Kolkata in India. The distinguishable design of the math encompasses styles of structures of other religions also. There is a statue of Sri Ramakrishna seated on a marble pedestal made in the shape of a lotus with 100 petals. The sacred remains of Sri Ramakrishna are preserved here. The temple is dedicated to Sharda Devi, the spiritual consort of Ramakrishna. There is also a museum with handicraft items displaying the history of Ramakrishna Mission. Several services are provided by Belur Math, such as medical service, education, employment for women, employment for backward classes, distress relief, and spiritual and cultural activities.

The opening hours of the math are:
