March 21, 2020Along with the architechture that this place preserves, the rotten caste system is preserved by the family as well. I belong to ezhava community and this temple as their “kudumbakshetram”. I have visited this temple many times as required by my family’s “traditions” but have never seen the interior. Brahmins are allowed inside, nairs can go inside if they take a dip in the pond nearby and the “lower” castes can only pray outside. I stopped visiting this place sometime back.
