Chamundi is a hill located on top of the Chamundi hill range which is at a distance of 13km from Mysore in Karnataka, India. You can see Mysore Palace, Karanji Lake, and other small temples from the peak of Chamundi hills. It is famous not only in India but also in foreign countries. On top of the hill, there is a Chamundi temple, dedicated to the fearsome form of goddess Durga. Chamundi hills is the tilak of the cultural city, Mysore. The Chamundi Hills which is located in the southeastern part of the scenic nature of Mysore attracts thousands of tourists. The red gravel soil and the tropical deciduous forest in Chamundi Reserve is the topography of Chamundi Hills. From 2001 onwards, the Karnataka Forest Department protects this forest as Reserve Forest. You can travel to Chamundi from Mysore through roadways or else there is Karnataka State Corporation bus every 20 minutes.
