India’s diversity in sculptures is world-famous. Chennakesava Temple in Somanadhapura in Mysore is an example of this. It is a Vaishnava Hindu Temple on the bank of Kaveri River in Somanadhapura in Karnataka, India. It is situated 38km eastward from Mysore city. This temple is built by King Narasimhasomanadha during the Hoysala rule in 1268. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Some works are written in Kannada in a huge stone at the main entrance. It reflects the amazing Hoysala architecture and its glorious, intricate crafts have never seen so beautiful anywhere. The wall in the backside of the temple is filled will carvings. The Hindu literary texts such as Ramaiah, Mahabharath, and Krishna Leela were illustrated there. It is now under the control of the Archaeological Survey of India. It takes around one to two hours to completely enjoy the temple. The visiting time is from 9 am to 5.30 pm. The entry ticket costs 10rupees for Indians and 100 rupees for foreign tourists. The still camera has no charge but the video camera has a charge of 25 rupees.
