Cochin International Airport is the fifth-busiest International Airport in India. It is also the first airport that fully works on solar energy. Cochin International Airport, Kerala’s largest airport, is located at a distance of 25km from Ernkalum to the north-east in Nedumbassery. It the first airport in India which is started with a Public-Private partnership. The solar power plant can produce 48,000 units of electricity per day. This solar power plant of 46,150 solar panels is located in 45 acres close to the cargo complex. The passenger amenities include a waiting room, medical room, currency exchange bureau, tourism information center, bookshop, restaurant, lounge, coffee kiosk, and other public amenities.
