The Hazarduari Palace in Murshidabad was built during the rule of the Nawab of Bengal by Nazim Humayun Jha. It is one of the most remarkable tourist destinations in Murshidabad. Hazarduari was used by the Nawabs and the British high officials as a residence. Now, this palace is a famous museum. It has 20 exhibition galleries containing 4742 antiques. The Hazarduari Palace is the largest site museum under the Archaeological Survey of India. The palace has many views like Dutch paintings, weapons, marbles, statues, stuffed animals, oil paintings, teak furniture, crystal chandeliers, ivory, fossils, the British gallery, the Nawab gallery, rare 12,000 books, and 3,000 manuscripts. It is a place of interest for historians, artists, tourists, and photographers. The visiting time is from 9 am to 5 pm. The entry fee is 20 rupees for Indian citizens and 100 rupees for foreign.
