Kotankulangara Devi Temple is a temple which is over 2000 years old. Kottankulangara Devi Temple is located in Chavara in Kollam district of Kerala, India. The beauty of Kottankulangara Devi Temple is the Female Lights. One of the rare festivals in Kerala, where men make a ‘Vratam’ or ‘dress’ in the form of a garment, is the Chamaka Lamp of the Kottankulangara Temple. It is also a ritual that the Goddess builds another temple outside the temple and dwells in it. Chavara Shree Kotankulangara Devi Temple is one of the most famous temples in Kerala.
