By Kandan Para is located at Puyamkutty, 26 km from Kothamangalam Taluk in Ernakulam district. It is a place blessed with natural beauty. Kandan rock is the best way to enjoy your time with your family and loved ones. The Kandan rock, the forest area and the nearby town are separated by the Puyamkutty river. There is a bridge connecting the town and the forest, and the river covers this path during the rainy season. Therefore, it is best not to visit this place during monsoons. Leopards, macaques, spotted deer, wild boar and many bamboos are important parts of the forest. It is also an important elephant migration route.
