This Rose Garden is one of the largest Rose Gardens in India. The garden is maintained by the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department. There are more than 3,000 varieties of roses, including hybrid tea roses, miniature roses, floribunda, ramblers, and unusual colors such as black and green. Government Rose Garden is located on the slopes of the Elk Hill in Vijayanagaram in the Ooty town of Tamil Nadu, India. In 2006, it was awarded the Excellence in South Asia’s Best Rose Garden from the International Rose Society.
