A Journey to a Dream City Malaysia Part 1
This is regarding a journey to a dream city with my friend for his work related purpose. It is a dream city in Asia, a heavenly place of new generation lifestyle, holding its head high in a luxurious way. Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, a Southeast Asian Country. The Twin Towers which is the tallest of its kind in the world is the pride of this city.
I reached Kuala Lumpur on a morning when the city was bathed in light. The moment I saw the dazzling city, all my fatigue and tiredness disappeared. We took rest in the hotel room for 2 hours and then we set out for my friend’s work and were busy till 3 o’ clock. It was a quick tour of 2 days and 1-1/2 nights. Kuala Lumpur is the best example of a planned city. The city of Kuala Lumpur is a mixture of bygone and present times. We visited the famous Petronas Twin Towers.
The height of this skyscraper is 451 meters. The tower enclosed in steel and glass is one of the rare sights in the world. This 88-floored tower is full of souvenir shops, science centers and philharmonic theaters. There is a sky bridge that connects the 41st floor of one tower to the 42nd floor of the other. Though this bridge appears to connect the towers, it is actually a structure that stands on independent compass-shaped pillars. The bridge has been built in such a way that it does not touch the buildings.
This kind of architectural work is done in order to prevent high-rise buildings from swaying under heavy wind. The tower is open to visitors from 10.00 in the morning. If we want to take ticket directly, we need to wait in queue from 6.00 in the morning.
Only a limited number of people are allowed inside the tower each day. There is facility to book ticket online. If we have already booked the ticket online, then we just need to reach the tower at 10.00. When we reached near the tower, we were totally stunned by the hard work, dedication and artistic skill put into the construction of this building.
From here, we went on to visit KL Tower which is another wonderful sight. It is the world’s 7th tallest (421 m) freestanding telecommunication tower. Watching the sky of Kuala Lumpur from the KL Tower is amazing. The city, glaring in the rays of the setting sun, is literally a heaven on earth. There is a 360-degree revolving restaurant here; having food from here is really an experience that can never be forgotten. Near KL Tower, there is another sight called Upside Down. This is a kind of architectural work where a house stands upside down.
We thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of this popular attraction and then decided to move on to visit the Sea Aquarium near the Convention Center located near KL Tower. The Aquarium is designed as 2 parts in a glass tunnel that is built 300 meters below sea level. It creates an aura of knowledge combined with entertainment. Entering the glass tunnel takes us to the wonderful world of sea life. We feel like we are inside the sea. We can see sharks, tortoises and different types of fishes overhead. The different creatures with surprising shapes and the world they live in are amazing.
The rest of the details about the trip are included in the next part.
