Hampi
Hampi, popularly known as the center of the Vijayanagara Empire, who resisted the invasions into southern India, is a city spreads over 26km of land on the banks of Tungabhadra River in the Bellary district of Karnataka. Hampi was the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hampi is also known as the City of Ruins. Hospet is the nearest city in Hampi. The remainings of Hampi are spread over 4,100 hectares. The city has been built over years due to the architectural style, with royal complexes, shrines, temples, halls with several pillars, porches, monuments, Jain temples, and tombs.
