1008 Lingam Temple

1008 Lingam Temple is located in Ariyanur, a suburbs in Salem is one of the most beautiful temples in Salem. The temple is mainly dedicated to Lord Shiva and is surrounded by 107 shivalingas .This temple is maintained by Vinayaka Mission. It is located on a hill top. You can either walk or can take any vehicle to the temple. On the way to the temple you can enjoy the beauty of Sangagiri Mountains . On top of the hill you can see a statue of Sri Umayyambigai Samedha Sri Arunachala Sundareswara .It will take 2hours to enjoy the heavenly realms of the temple by foot and one hour by vehicle. Cameras and video cameras are allowed inside the temple. Tourist destinations like Kurumbapatti Zoological Park,ISKCON Salem, Sri Sri Radha Gokulananda Temple, Kuliyur Falls, Lake, Yercaud and Mettur Dams are located near 1008 Lingam temple. The most suitable time to visit the temple is in early morning or early evening. Entry time is from 8.00am to 8.30pm everyday .
