The Dindigul Fort built by Madurai Nayakar King Muthu Krishnappa Nayakar is situated in Dindigul in Tamil Nadu. Dindigul is a city at a distance of 400km from Chennai in Tamil Nadu. It was built by Madurai Nayakar King Muttu Krishnappa Nayak to protect his country from the invading Mysore army on an isolated hillock. Now it is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. There are remainings of munitions, weapons, ammunition deports, artillery point, and a temple inside the fort wall and now these are the tourist destination of this court. The view of Dindigul on one side and farms on the other side is amazing. The entry fee is 10 rupees per person and 100 for foreign travelers. It is open from 9 am to 5.30 pm.
