It is 5 km from Perumbavoor, 20 km from Aluva railway station and 17 km from Nedumbassery airport. Iringol Forest is located on 50 acres of land. The sanctuary is home to 49 endangered and rare species of flora, 44 species of birds, moths, reptiles, amphibians, 19 species of spiders, 42 species of insects and 5 species of mammals. It is a biodiversity heritage site approved by the State Biodiversity Board. The temple path is densely covered with vines and shrubs, but there is no threat to wildlife or reptiles. One of the special features of the forest is that the trees of the forest are worshiped as tributaries. The trees of Kavu are believed to have divine divinity. Therefore the forest will not be cut down or the trunks of fallen trees will be used for any other purpose. It is customary to let the guava trees lay there.
