Anayirangal Dam

The Anayirankal Dam is a beautiful natural scenic view surrounded by tea estates and evergreen forests. An unforgettable sight is the reservoir close to the dam and the lush green carpet formed by the tea plants near the reservoir. Anayirankal Dam is the major point of Kerala hydel tourism program. The dam can be described as a photogenic place. Places like this for taking photos and videos are rare. The calm and quiet surroundings of Anayirankal Dam provide a peaceful atmosphere. Here, the natural panoramic landscape scenery offers a treat to our eyes. A boat ride through the waters of the reservoir is most thrilling. If you are going by your own private vehicle, Anayirankal Dam can be reached by travelling 15 km from Munnar to Chinnakanal (Chinnakanal is also a tourist spot) and 7 km from Chinnakanal via Thekkady. The ticket rates for entering the park in the dam are:

Rs. 20 for adults,

Rs. 10 for children,

Rs. 30 for four-wheeler parking,

Rs. 10 for two wheelers, and

Rs. 50 for minibus.

The boating charges are:

Rs. 750 for speed boat (15 minutes for 5 people including children) and

Rs. 1600 for large motorboat (30 minutes for 20 people including children).
