Padmanabhapuram Palace is located in the Kanyakumari district of India and is a testimony to the ancient culture, heritage, bravery and ancient customs of God’s own country. Spanning across an area of 6 acres, Padmanabhapuram Palace is well-known for its intricate wooden carvings, 17th and 18th century mural arts, sprawling corridors, unique rooms and 14 structures, enticing sculptures and so on.This magnificent palace regarded as Asia’s largest wooden palace was once the official residence of the Travancore dynasty. It is owned and maintained by the Government Of Kerala. Padmanabhapuram is the former capital city of the erstwhile Hindu Kingdom of Travancore. It is around 20km from Nagercoil, and 50km from Thiruvananthapuram city. It is believed that the Thai Kottaram was built in 1550. The palace complex continues to be one of the best examples of traditional Kerala architecture.
