Victoria Memorial
Victoria Memorial is one of the famous and most beautiful monuments of Kolkata. It was built by the Viceroy of British India, Lord Curzon, in memory of Queen Victoria. The memorial and a lovely garden cover 64 acres of land. Victoria Memorial is on the ground by the bank of Hooghly River near Jawaharlal Nehru Road in Kolkata and is made of Makrana marble from Rajasthan. It is built in the Indo-Saracenic Revival style of architecture. At the moment, this is a museum as well as a tourist center.
