Beypore
Beypore is an ancient port town in the Kozhikode District of Kerala in India. The Beypore Port is the second biggest port in the state of Kerala, standing next to Kochi. This port is also one of the oldest ports in Kerala State. Beypore is renowned for the building of wooden ships. Beypore was once ruled over by 4 kovilakams (palaces). Beypore was first visited by the Romans. The Chinese, Syrians, Arabs, and Europeans followed later, who came to Beypore for trade purposes. Later on, Beypore was expanded under the East India Company.
