Lokanarkavu Temple is the Sindoora Tilak of Kadathanad, the land of galleries and artefacts. Lokanarkavu is located in the Ayancherry panchayat of Kozhikode district in the state of Kerala, India. Lokanarkavu is the paradevata temple of the Kadathanadu lords. On the way up to the temple, the first thing you see is an ancient large pond made of cut stone. In front of it are two old altars, the Thekkethara where Thottampattu used to walk, the temple grounds where the hero Thacholi Othenan played in the north, the Lokanar Kavilamma in the sanctum sanctorum, the Panchaloha idol with the Chaturbahu and the Lokanarkavu Saiva Vaishnavas. Thacholi Othenan, a hero known all over Kerala, was a devotee of Bhagavathy in Lokanarkavil. Here the Goddess appears as Saraswati in the morning, Lakshmi in the afternoon and Goddess Parvati in the evening. Lokanarka is famous for its losers and city tours. Accompanied by Gajaveerans, they will collect charcoal on the way to Ezhunnellam and receive fire and firecrackers. Telling the truth was another popular event in the world. Telling the truth with elaborate ceremony to prove the innocence of anyone. In the course of time, it too has become a mere ritual.
