A Brahma temple, which is known to be built by Parashuram is situated on the bank of Nila River in Tavanur Cheruthirunavaya in Malapuram, Kerala. The idol of Lord Brahma sitting in a lotus is worshiped in this temple. Unfortunately, this temple is rarely visited by devotees nowadays. There is no regular worship or festivals in this temple. Most of the devotees are visiting the main temple in Thirunavaya, the Navamukunda temple. The Navamukunda temple has regular worship including worship of Brahma. Thirunavaya is known as Dakshina Kashi because of Lord Brahma and Lord Shiva on the other side of Bharathapuzha along with Lord Vishnu. Cheruthirunavaya, which is on the bank of Bharatapuzha is the only place that has shrines of ‘Thrimurtis’
