In a valley surrounded by mountains lies the Agaya Gangai Waterfalls. It is near the Arapaleeshwar Temple on the Kolli Hills in Namakkal District of Tamil Nadu. Punctuated by beautiful low-lying lands and hills, trekkers would love this place. Around 1000 steps lead from the temple to the waterfalls. It will take nearly one hour to descend and around one-and-a-half hours to ascend; however, we won’t feel the arduousness of the trip because of the great scenery of the greenery around, the dense forests below, water making its way through the thick flora, etc. There are 2 caves, Korakkar Siddhar and Kalaanginatha Siddhar Caves, situated in the forest region near the Agaya Gangai Waterfalls. Kolli Hills is part of the Eastern Ghats lying 1300 m above sea level and spreading across the district of Namakkal in Tamil Nadu, India. There are 70 hairpin bends, a matter of pride to the Kolli Hills. Driving through these challenging curves is a thrilling one. The historical importance of the place as well as the evergreen forests in the hills makes Kolli Hills even more famous. At present, the major part of the forests seems to have been cleared for agricultural purposes. The main agricultural products coming out of Kolli Hills are coffee, jackfruit, pineapple, banana, pepper, and other spices. The presence of the well-known Arapaleeshwar Temple has turned Kolli Hills into a pilgrim center as well.
