Aanakkatti is one among the protected areas of Kerala. It extends over the area that lies to the west of Attappadi Block in Mannarkkad Taluk of Palakkad District in Kerala, India. The road trip from Coimbatore to Aanakkatti covering a distance of 30 km is a thrilling experience. Travelling through the western ghats entering Kerala from Tamil Nadu, enjoying the natural beauty of the western ghats is an experience that one will never forget. Siruvani River bed is seen in Aanakkatti. This place is making its debut in the tourism sector by making use of its attractions like Siruvani Waterfalls, trekking, jeep safari, etc. A natural habitat of wild elephants, this place is also blessed with lush green hills, beautiful streams, roaring waterfalls, and forests full of wild animals. It is said that the place got its name from “group of elephants” (aana/aanai means elephant). This is a spot where one can enjoy the charm of nature throughout the year.
