Kalpathy is a village located in the Palakkad district of Kerala. Kalpathy is also known as Dakshina Kashi. Kalpathy Rathodsavam is a popular festival held every year at the temple of Kalpathy village in Palakkad district of Kerala. Kalpathy Rathodsavam is something that can be enjoyed by anyone, believer or non-believer. The Kaulpathy Chariot Festival is held in the month of November every year. The chariots of Vishalakshi Sametha Viswanatha Swamy Temple, Mantakkara Mahaganapati Temple, Lakshminarayana Perumal Temple, Chathapuram Prasanna Ganapati Temple and Puthiya Kalpathy Temple are being towed by the devotees through the Agrahara streets. Kalpathy Chariot Festival is a reminiscence of the chariot festival at the Mayuranatha Swamy Temple on the banks of the Cauvery.
