Kodachadri is a peak located at an elevation of 1343 m in the Sahyaparva Range of Karnataka. Kodachadri is a beautiful hill station located in the western foothills of the Shimoga District. Kodachadri is famous not only for its history students but also for its believers, researchers and mountaineers. It is one of the most important historical sites and beliefs associated with Adi Shankaracharya. The name Kodachadri is derived from the Sanskrit name Kodakachalam. Kollur Mookambika Temple is located in the Kodachadri Valley. The rainforests around the mountain are covered with fog all the time. This is a very suitable place for trekking. The Kodachadri Hills are a dense Chola forest that falls within the Mookambika National Park.
