Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple is one of the Nava Tirupathi Temples and is situated in Venkateswarapuram in Srivilliputhur Block of Virudhunagar District in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. This temple is also known as Sri Mayakoothar Permual Temple. It is 567 km from Chennai and 40 km from the district headquarters of Virudhunagar to Venkateswarapuram which is located in the banks of Thamirabarani River on the Perungulam-Tiruchendur-Tirunelveli route. From Srivilliputhur, there is mini bus service available every 1 hour to Srinivasa Perumal Temple. The Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple is the most famous place in Srivilliputhur. This temple is one of the 108 holy temples which are mentioned in Nalayira Divya Prabandham, the 8th – 10th century Vaishnava Literature or collection of verses. The temple stands on a hillock. The main deity is Vishnu. One needs to ascend 300 steps to reach the temple on the top of the hill. There is a beautiful pond at the base of the hill and a Vinayagar Temple nearby. On the way up, there is the Gopalaswamy Temple and the Pechiamman Temple. The place is a major tourist center of Srivilliputhur. Those who are not able to travel the long distance to Tirupathi visit this temple instead. The view from the top of the hill where the temple is situated is very attractive. From there, Thiruvannamalai is also easily accessible by bus. The temple is open from 9.00 am in the morning till 12.00 pm in the noon and 5.00 pm in the evening till 7.00 pm.
