Sri Gopal Swamy Temple

Here is a sight to see, Gopalaswamy Malai Temple, the oldest temple in Tirunelveli district. A beautiful and secluded hill in the countryside. Pratikshta is Sri Gopalaswamy, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The oldest temple in the district, this Gopalaswamy Malai Temple is 600 years old. This is an ancient temple in south tamilnadu.located near srivilliputhur. God Venkatachalapathy blessing in top of the hill. Famous temple and it’s also called tirupathi. You have to climb 100 steps in four tiers to reach the top. There are two Sri Kovils, lower and upper. Both Sri Kovils have Gopalaswamy Pratikstha. The temple is built in a combination of Tamil Nadu style of architecture and Madurai Krishna temple style.

This temple remains open from 6: 00 AM – 11: 00 AM and 4: 00 PM – 8: 00 PM. The temple is just a kilometer away from the Palayamkottai bus stand. Palayamkottai is located at about 3 Kms from Thirunelveli.
