Badami Cave Temples are a group of Hindu and Jain caves located in Badami in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka. Badami Cave Temples were built by Pulikesan I during the 6th century. Badami Cave Temples are considered to be the cradle of temple architecture. Badami Cave Temples are famous for their cave temples dating from the 6th and 7th centuries. It houses four cave temples. The first temple consists of a verandah and a colonnade with several columns. Badami Cave Temples are built on sandstone hills. One of the most famous sculptures here is the 18-hand Natarajas statue.
