Iringol Kavu is a forest temple dedicated to Goddess Durga, located at a distance of 2.5 km from Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district of Kerala. The trees around Kavu are believed to contain the deity. So the trees here are not cut down for any reason. It is one of the 108 Durga temples in Kerala, believed to be dedicated to Parasurama, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Iringol Kav Bhagwati Temple is believed to be over 2700 years old. Karthika is an important day in the month of Scorpio. It is believed that the goddess will bless those who see her on that day with longevity and auspicious healing for unmarried women. The Bhagwati Temple is located at a distance of 35 km from Ernakulam on the Aluva – Munnar Road between Kuruppadi and Perumbavoor.
