Anchuruli
Anchuruli in Idukki cools the views of tourists. The Idukki Dam starts from here. The tunnel was constructed to bring water to the Idukki Dam from the Irattayar Dam which is located a short distance from there. The tunnel is 5.5 km long and 24 feet in diameter from Irattayar to Anjuruli. The project is to build a dam on the Irattayar and divert the water to the Idukki Reservoir in Anjuruli through a tunnel. Anchuruli is the name given to this lake by the adivasis as it is surrounded by five hills in a row. When the Idukki dam is completely filled with water, it will reach the face of the tunnel. Then there will be water above 1000 feet. It lies in the Kanchiyar grama panchayath in the newly formed Idukki constituency. The place can be accessed from Kanchiyar which is on the Kattappana – Kuttikkanam state highway.
