The Kali Ghat Kali Temple is one of the fifty Shakti Peethas in Kolkata. The temple is located on the banks of the river called Adiganga. The Kali Pratshtha is unique in that it has three eyes, unlike the Kali figures found in other temples. There is animal sacrifice at Kali Ghat. The tops are placed on the white marble floor in front of the shrine. Goats are sacrificed and bulls are rarely sacrificed. The Kali Ghat Temple was built by Chaurangi Nathan who was a saint in the Dashanama system. Chauranginathan was the son of King Devapala who ruled Bengal. Kali Ghat has a metro station.
