Buddhist Golden Temple is situated in the Tibetan monastery in Kushalnagar in Mysore. The full name of this monastery is Thegchog Namdrol Shedrub Dargye Ling. This monastery is situated in the land which is donated to the Tibetans by the Indian government. There are 7,000 saints and students in the monastery. The main attraction is the 40ft tall golden statues of Buddha. This is a major tourist destination that is visited by a lot of tourists from India and different parts of the world. The Bylakuppe Golden temple is open from 7 am to 8 pm. It is at a distance of 90km from Mysore and 250km from Bangalore. From Kushalnagar, cross the Kaveri River bridge on the Mysore-Madikeri road, you can see the monastery’s board after 200m.
