Chettinad Palace
Chettinad is historically located in the Sivaganga district of the Ramnath kingdom of Pandyanad. Chettinad is famous for its local cuisine, architecture and religious sites. Chettinad Palace is one of the seven wonders of India. Chettinad was a place inhabited by a group of local Chettians who were traders. Athangudi Palace outside the city of Karaikudi is a perfect example of traditional Chettinad architecture. Atangudi or Atangudi is a small village located in the Sivaganga district. With a population of about 2,000, the village is famous for its Chettinad furniture, tiles and various dishes.
