Azhimala Shiva Temple is a Shiva temple located near Kovalam in Thiruvananthapuram. Dedicated to Lord Shiva in the Puranas. Situated on the shores of the Arabian Sea, this temple is one of the most beautiful places. The best time to visit the temple is in the morning and evening. The tallest Shiva statue in Kerala is built in this temple. At 58 feet tall, this sculpture is the tallest Shiva temple in the state. Facing east, a concrete sculpture depicts Lord Shiva flying in the wind and holding Goddess Ganga on her head. PS Devadathan, a native of Azhimala, completed the sculpture after 6 years of hard work. The temple is located on the beautiful Ajimala beach. This is a very quiet beach by the sea.
