By Kookkal is an agricultural village located at a distance of 30 km from Kodaikanal in the Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu, India. Enchanting Kookal Lake flows through the middle of the shoals and surrounding meadows. Smoke billows from the chimneys of several small houses at the top of the hill.
