By Idukki Dam is one of the major attractions of Idukki District in the Indian state of Kerala. The Idukki Dam is located in the middle of the Kuravan Kuruathi Hills. The Idukki Dam is the third largest dam in India and the third largest in the state. The forest department has arranged a boat ride through the waters of the Idukki Dam to see the magnificent Cheruthoni Dam and the Idukki Arch Dam. Boating is conducted by Idukki Forest Development Agency (Idukki Forest Eco Tourism). Cameras and cell phones are not allowed in the dam area. Entry fee is Rs 25 for adults and Rs 5 for children. The 15 minute boating rate for five people is Rs 600. The dam has access to all public holidays. The dam is open from 10 am to 5 pm. The boating charge is Rs 25 for adults and Rs 10 for children.
