Khadi Weaving Center is located in Thavanur, a small village on the banks of the river Bharathapuzha, the longest river in the Malappuram district of Kerala. Khadi in India is a great tradition that has been going on for half a century. The Sarvodaya Sangh was established to develop the villages through village industries and other creative activities. The group has a network of operations in four neighboring districts. 40 Khadi Village Industries Sales Centers, 8 Khadi Training Centers and 13 Khadi Spinning Centers. The main objective of this organization is to work for a non-violent and non-exploitative social order envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi.
