Elephant Training Centre Konni

The famous Elephant Training Centre is situated in Konni in Pathanamthitta district in Kerala, India. It is also a major tourist destination. The main attraction of this centre is the huge cage made of wood for the elephants. These are known as Elephant cages. The elephants are trained in these cages. Konni was known for its Elephant Training Centre from the ancient times. The elephants which are caught from the forest are directly brought in here, and they are trained by experienced trainers by using systematic training methods. For months the elephants are tamed using the huge cages and Thappanas. The Elephant Training Centre acts as a welfare centre also. It is a small place where you can see how the elephants are trained.
