By Banasura Sagar Dam, which is the largest earthen dam in India is the second-largest dam in Asia. This dam is situated on the foot of Banasura hill in Karamanathodu River, which is a tributary of the Kabini River. Banasura Dam is at a distance of 21km from Kalpetta town in Wayanad district in Kerala. The nearest city is Kozhikode at a distance of 103km. Banasura Sagar Dam is a famous tourist destination in Wayanad. The trekking to the beautiful Banasura hills will be a great experience.
