By Malayattoor Church is the first international church in the country. Malayattoor is a historical center of Indian Christianity associated with the teachings of St. Thomas. St. Thomas Church is an international pilgrimage center in the state of Kerala, India. Thousands of pilgrims flock here during the church festivals in the months of March and April. The main attractions of Malayattoor Church are the Mar Thoma Mandapam, the Golden Cross, Sannidhi and the footsteps of St. Thomas on the rock. Malayattoor Church is believed to have been founded by St. Thomas the Apostle, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ. Puthunayar Thirunal is the main festival of Malayattoor. The main ceremonies of the festival are held at Malayattoor Church and Kurisumudi Church. Malayattoor Church is located at a distance of 45 km from Kochi city.
