Charakilada – A Rare Offering Of Sri Manganam Narasimhaswamy Temple – Thevarkunnu Mahadeva Temple
Thevarkunnu Mahadeva Temple is over 800 years old – Kottayam. Manganam is a beautiful village located in the Kottayam district of Kerala. Thevarkunnu Mahadeva Temple, which is over 800 years old, is located on a small hillock as a blessing to the entire village.The main festivals of the temple are Kalasadina on the day of Anizham in the month of Tula and Thiruvatira and Shivratri in the month. Another temple that is considered sacred to the village is the Sri Manganam Narasimhaswamy Temple, one of the oldest temples in the Travancore region. The temple is believed to have been built at the end of the Second Chera Dynasty. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, a quadrilateral with the concept of Narasimha. Thiruvonam’s birthday is celebrated in the month of Makara. Charakilada is an important offering in this temple. The grocery offering is the offering of a loaf of rice made of rice for one hundred and one hours to the Lord of the temple.
