The 2,500 sq ft building on two acres of land in Lower Camp is not only a memorial to British engineer Colonel John Pennycook, but also a temple. The memorial, which hosts a 575 kg 7.5 ft bronze statue of Pennycook, sheds light on the life and times of the British engineer and the construction of the Mullaperiyar Dam. After the dam opened in 1895, Pennycook returned to his hometown of Camberley, where he died on 9 March 1911. The vineyard in Cuddalore is a great place to stroll around and take beautiful pictures.
