Kovilur is a small village in the Devikulam block of Idukki district in the state of Kerala, India. It is under Vattavada Panchayat. Theni Allinagaram, Periyakulam, Valparai and Palani are close to Koviloor. Kovilloor is located in the Vattavada Panchayath in the eastern part of the Western Ghats, near Marayoor and in the northern part of Munnar. Kurinjimala Sanctuary, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Manjampatti Valley, Amravati Reserve Forest in the Northeast Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary, Eravikulam National Park, Anamudi Shola National Park and South Pampadam Shola National Park are some of the protected areas near Kovilur. Kovilloor is actually a Tamil village in Kerala. Agriculture is the main source of income in Kovilloor. Winter vegetables such as carrots, beetroot, cabbage and garlic are the main crops grown. Kottakabur is the last village of the famous Munnar. A village with small houses on both sides of the road and narrow alleys. Until the 1980s, there was no significant transportation or communication to these areas. The people of this region, which is mostly inhabited by Tamils, make a living by cultivating the soil.
